The School Curriculum

A Structured Journey Through Every Stage of Learning

Our curriculum is structured to provide learners with a progressive educational journey from the early years through secondary education. Each stage is carefully designed to build on the knowledge, skills, confidence and character developed in the previous stage.

Early Years

The Pre-Basic Section

The Pre-Basic Section provides a strong foundation for early childhood learning and development. Our curriculum is based on Early Years Montessori principles with a subset of the British/Nigerian curriculum.

Primary Education

Basic Section

The Basic Section operates a step-ahead academic programme designed to challenge pupils and strengthen their understanding of core subjects. A pupil in Basic I may use Basic II textbooks, particularly in Mathematics, English Language, Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning, as agreed by the school.

Textbooks used within the programme are selected from recommended books approved by the relevant Ministry of Education from time to time.

Secondary Education

Junior Secondary Section

Brilliant Stars International College offers Junior Secondary education through Junior Secondary School I, II and III (JSS 1, JSS 2 and JSS 3).

At this stage, learners build a stronger academic foundation, develop independent learning habits and prepare for the demands of senior secondary education.

Senior Secondary Section

Brilliant Stars International College provides Senior Secondary education through Senior Secondary School I, II and III (SSS 1, SSS 2 and SSS 3).

This stage prepares learners for higher education, professional opportunities and responsible participation in society while strengthening academic competence and personal development.
